Autumn Coming Along
posted March 4 :::
We’ve made a lot of progress on Autumn Leaves since the start of the new year. I’ve taken on more of the editing duties myself and have cut 18 scenes on my home computer. I’m tag-teaming with editor Michael Wooten. He digitizes and synchs the video and audio clips, puts them on a tape for me to edit, and when I’m done I return them to him. All told 30 scenes (out of 49) have been cut, with the others at various stages of development.
Three original songs have been written and recorded for Autumn Leaves. Two of the songs – “Everyone's Fallin' in Love” and “Long Time Comin'” – are jazz tunes written by Jane Andre and Brain Cashwell and performed by Jane and Brian’s trio. The third song – “My Darkest Hour” – was written by Jane and performed by her band Janestory. All three sound really good and I’m excited about weaving them into the final movie.
Last but not least, I’m considering a name change. I like the title Autumn Leaves, but it’s been done. It’s an old jazz song, and has been used for a 1950’s movie starring Joan Crawford, in addition to a 1961 Iraqi movie (wouldn’t have known that without imdb) and at least two novels. So I’m thinking of calling this movie Autumn Evenings, which has the advantage of being original.
What do you think? E-mail me about the title (or anything else on your mind).
