Autumn Leaves World Premier is Set

And it’s happening in Excelsior, Minnesota. Autumn Leaves was accepted at the SMMASH (Strictly Midwest Movies and Short Hits) Film Festival. The announcement came yesterday.
Autumn Leaves will be screened twice at SMMASH: Friday, October 21 at 3:30pm, and Sunday, October 23 at 9:30pm. Both screenings will take place at Theater 1 at the historic Dock Theater in Excelsior (near Minneapolis/St. Paul). The screenings take place on the second anniversary of the first Autumn Leaves shoot (10/17/03 – 10/23/03).
The SMMASH web site includes info on buying tickets and getting to the festival. (A full lineup of the festival’s screening dates and times will be posted soon.) On October 30, the festival will present the third annual “Tastie” awards – their version of the Oscars for the best of the fest. Nominations for the Tasties will be announced this Saturday, so with any luck I'll have a post up soon on what awards Autumn Leaves is up for. (All of the movies are eligible for the audience choice award.)
