Imitation will be at Cincy Art Museum Feb. 20

posted January 18 :::

Mark your calendar for Friday, February 20, 2004. The first-ever Best of Underneath Cincinnati film festival will be held that evening at the Cincinnati Art Museum. My first short-length movie, Imitation, will be one the movies screened at the event.

Imitation premiered on August 3, 2003 at an “Underneath Cincinnati” screening. Audience members voted on their favorite movie of the ten shown that evening. As the audience choice, Imitation won a place at the Best of Underneath Cincinnati event.

Imitation stars Elizabeth Goffena (who played Natalie in my feature Beginning), Courtney Seiberling and Samantha Northart as actresses auditioning for a role in an independent movie. A comic take on acting and movies, Imitation also examines how life and art intersect – and how they don’t.

Underneath Cincinnati screenings are held four times per year at The Mockbee on West McMicken. Eclectic pictures from local filmmakers are featured, including narrative shorts, documentaries and avant-garde works. Check out www.underneathcincinnati.com for more info about the Feb. 20 event.
